What to Expect at Your First Visit

Your First Appointment

ï‚·  What will I expect on my first visit?

Dr Mulvihill and her team will make your visit as comfortable as possible.

When you first arrive, you will be asked to fill out a medical history form. Once you have completed your form you will be called into the dental surgery. Dr Mulvihill will have a comprehensive discussion about your concerns and try to gather as much information as possible. A full consultation and examination of your mouth, teeth and jaw will be performed and an appropriate treatment plan will be discussed.

ï‚·  What should I bring with me?

On the day of the initial visit, please bring with you the following:

  • List of medication

  • Your dental insurance details

  • A parent or guardian must accompany patients under 18 on the day of the initial visit.

ï‚· Do I need X-rays?

Yes, we need current X-rays to investigate any clinically detected pathology.

When your treatment plan is finalised you can then book an appointment at the reception desk. You will be sent home with all of the relevant patient information leaflets.

On occasion, certain surgical procedures may be carried out on the day of consultation.

If a patient is having sedation they must have a suitable adult to escort them home.

Sedation will NOT be carried out if you do not have an escort
